Product Description Simpsons Road Rage takes popular Simpsons' characters as they go crazy on the streets of Springfield!
Amazon.com Product Description There's road rage, and then there's road rage Simpsons style! D'oh! Mr. Burns is up to his greedy ways again. He's purchased Springfield's transit corporation and heinously jacked up the fares. Refusing to shell out for the new rates, the road rage ensues. You'll take on commuters and jam-packed back routes, all in an effort to help buy back the corporation before time runs out. More than 25 Simpsons characters climb behind the wheel or wander the streets begging for a ride. "Eat my shorts, dude!" Careen through timesaving shortcuts and take on terrain including hills, mountains, and forests. Wreak havoc in five Springfield neighborhoods that include landmarks such as Moe's Bar and the nuclear power plant. Busy traffic and wayward pedestrians confound your rage. However, two-wheel leans, speed starts, power slides, and other cool car physics help you release that rage. Multiple game modes let you go head-to-head in two-player split-screen action that challenges your opponent in a race for the next passenger, or you can steal his or her passenger midride! Complete up to 60 unique passenger deliveries in story mode, or take a leisurely Sunday drive through the fair Springfield. A bonus system lets you unlock cars and specific characters, while intuitive menus make this game easy to play. As Homer would say, "If it's hard to do, it's not worth doing!"

Crazier Taxi January 14, 2002 Rich Fuester 25 out of 27 found this review helpful
This is a fun driving game. The jist is Crazy Taxi in Springfield. There are 12 cars to unlock & 5 maps to unlock. I've had this game a week and its very very fun. The load time mentioned in previous reviews is true however you can speed up load speeds by changing the drive speeds. In options without any game inserted you can change the cd read speed. As for game play it is very addictive. You can practice on Sunday Drive to hone your skills. Then Rage on the Road Rage mode to earn money and to unlock vehicles and maps. Almost everywhere mentioned in The Simpson's World of Springfield is present. You can go to Moe's you can drive through the Center of the School. Besides that there are quite a few shortcuts to find. The Canyonaro piloted by Marge is one heavy duty vehicle. Some of th cars to unlock is Apu's - Sports Car, Rev. Lovejoy's - Book Burning Mobile, Otto's - School Bus, Chief Wiggum's - Patrol Car, Barney's - Snow Plow (one mission you have to run over 12 City Mascots with the plow), Scientists - Hover car, Krusty's - Klown Car, Willey's - Tractor, and Flander's - Station Wagon to name a few. Pure driving satire is this games charm. Hours of mayhem on the streets of Springfield. Watch out for the Buses and Smithers driving Mr. Burns around town. One of my favorites so far for the PS2.
Pretty addictive madness December 4, 2001 22 out of 25 found this review helpful
I am a Simpsons fan, tried and true and although I am new to the PS2 community (I've only had my system about 3 weeks) and I would not consider myself a "rabid gamer"(yet). However, other than Grand Theft Auto 3 (the reason I caved in and bought PS2), this is the game I find myself playing the most. The pace and thrill of each ride through Springfield is very exciting. The game is easy to learn for us newbies and the controls handle very well. The game also has lots of in-jokes and sound bytes for the Simpsons maniac (some do repeat after time but they diversify with each new level that is achieved). Other reviewers have mentioned the long load times of this game and that is true, even small 20 second mini-missions take an above average time to load which is most certainly a drag. Even so, Road Rage is a worthy investment for the Simpsons purist and an adrenaline rush for everyone else (especially those fans of Crazy Taxi). I am also new to writing reviews so this is generally a practice one for me but I hope my experience with this game can help sway the decision of someone out there.Happy Holidays!
Great Game For the Holidays November 21, 2001 Greg Reinfeldt (Waukesha, Wisconsin United States) 18 out of 20 found this review helpful
This game has fun for everyone. It is Crazy Taxi except one better. Crazy Taxi does not have any two player mode but Simpsons: Road Rage does. The graphics are not show stopping but they are authentic to the TV show. It is also enjoyable just to drive around the six huge levels. And to unlock the other drivers. However with the good comes the bad the load time for the game is to long. However it is worth the of the load to play the level. I WAS a fan of Crazy Taxi but now The Simpsons: Road Rage is replacing it. A must have for Simpsons' fans and Crazy Taxi fans alike.
Road Rage is too much fun! October 4, 2002 P. S. Rouse (Los Angeles, CA) 18 out of 20 found this review helpful
Have a tough day at work?? don't take it out on the people in your life! Go home and get behind the wheel of Mr Plow or Marge Simpson's Canyonero! This game is incredible fun as you race through imaginary Springfield picking up and dropping off it's citizens in a race against the clock. The story goes, you might know.. that Mr Burns has these nuclear buses and folks lash out by renting their cars out as taxis to make some cash. You have a choice to be any one of the Simpsons as you drive around Springfield picking up passengers and crash your way through town. Running over bus stops will get you a couple extra seconds.. Run over lightposts, mailboxes, fences and trees.. more points for you! Score well and you will unlock other areas of town, or you can choose to unlock another vehicle.. Apu's sports car is one of my favorites! You can play with the Sunday Driver option which allows you to drive around town in an un-timed game. This allows you to learn the layout before you go to the Road Rage game for points. There is also a 2 player "Head to Head" option. This will split the screen which I found a little distracting.. but it's fun in that you can steal your opponant's passenger's from them! =) The graphics are pretty good.. the attention to detail is amazing. One might actually believe Springfield USA is a real town and the quips and cuts that the denizens of Springfield make are truely hilarious. The only down to this game is the impatience I had waiting for the game to load so I could try again!! =) This game is well worth the money! Be sure and invest in some memory if you don't already have it as you will want to save your scores!
A lot of fun November 27, 2001 Patrick (Wisconsin, USA) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I don't know why magazine reviews are so hard on this game. So what if it is a rip off of Crazy Taxi? Crazy Taxi would be a better game if the Simpsons were in it. I love the graphics in this game. The colors are vibrant and pleasing to the eye. I wish the Simpsons characters were more 2D though. I can't get used to them in 3D. Their voices are clear and funny. The control is solid. You wont be crashing into things everytime you make a turn. The best thing about this game is just exploring Springfield. After watching the show all these years it's a joy to interact with it.
